THE
REMARKABLE YOUNG WOMEN
PROJECT

The Remarkable Young Women Project unveils the overlooked histories of real young women—warriors, scholars, inventors, spies, artists, scientists, activists and more who shaped our world from ancient times to today. They were ambitious, bold, and brilliant. They were also forgotten. This project recovers (re-marks) their stories. From the lives of these brilliant, bold, curious, and courageous girls, young people from all backgrounds will be empowered to see themselves as history makers.

I started the Remarkable Young Women Project in 2024 to bring to light the important contributions of teenage girls and young women throughout history history.  I accumulated these stories through my undergraduate and postgraduate work on women's history, and have continued this research into the professional sphere. Outside of the office, I share these histories with schools, bookstores, museums, libraries, community centers, churches, youth groups, and more, to empower young women everywhere.

About Me.

Young woman at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in the garden courtyard

Hi! I’m Megan, an award-winning history researcher with a master's degree and a background in museum education. I’ve spent my career uncovering the hidden stories of young history-makers. But I believe history shouldn't stay locked in an archive—it belongs in the hands of curious young minds, to help them see themselves as significant contributors to the human story.

I live in New York City and work with schools, libraries, and youth organizations to transform dusty documents into dynamic discoveries. Whether we’re dissecting primary sources or deconstructing a historical mystery, my goal is to show kids and teens that history isn't just something that happened—it’s something young people just like them built by being bold, brave, and curious.

Museum Educator

From years of museum education roles specializing in children's workshops and tours, I use hands-on, inquiry-based learning techniques that keep kids active and engaged.

Award-Winning Researcher

I have conducted multiple grant-funded projects to compose original, award-winning research unveiling overlooked figures in women's history from ancient times to today.

Public Speaker

I have presented history lectures and workshops to learners of various ages and levels, from elementary and middle schools to college classes  and adult groups.
